People on boardHENRY, Norah Norah Henry was the 2nd daughter of James and Ellen Henry of Carnacreeva, Skreen, Co. Sligo where her father was a Farmer and a local District Councillor. Norah’s mother, Ellen had died about 10 years previously and her father died in 1920. It is not known why Norah, who was single and aged 25 at the time, was travelling on the RMS Leinster. She survived the sinking and returned home by train several days later. The Sligo Champion of 19th October 1918 reported that Norah “arrived home at Ballisodare Station on Tuesday night by mail little worse for her thrilling experience except for a bandaged hand. She was the object of much attention, but was reticent on being asked questions, and seemed anxious to forget the terrible affair.”
