People on boardMacDONALD, Flora M. Flora M MacDonald was born in Brentford, London in 1916 to Edwin MacDonald and Margaret Huntley. Edwin was a Soldier in the Army Service Corps, stationed in Valetta, Malta in the 1911 census. He had been born in the Army Barracks in Youghal, Co Cork where his father, an English soldier, had been Barrack Sergeant. London-born Margaret’s father was also a Soldier. In 1918 Edwin, Margaret and Flora were living in Hailsham Avenue in Streatham. By 1911 Edwin’s family had moved to Dublin, and were living in Almeida Avenue in Kilmainham. In October 1918 Margaret MacDonald took her daughter to visit her grandparents in Dublin while Edwin was serving with the Army Service Corps in Mesopotamia. Returning to their home in London they travelled on RMS Leinster on the 10th. They did not survive the sinking nor were their bodies recovered.
